ARNSIDE KNOTT (Free Ride)
"Arnside sits on the border of Cumbria and Lancashire. It’s barely more than a village, with an old-fashioned promenade and miniature stone pier jutting out into the estuary". Never mind that! We heard about the "Knott" from the guys at Blue Tubes (Local Skate and Clothes Shop). It's an emmense limestone hill, moorland on one side and woods on the other. We've only been up there a couple of times and we've only scratched the surface. We've still yet to explore all of it, the woodlands has got winding paths through it that might show promise (watch out for the tree stumps) and there's a massive downhill pathway that'll get your adrenaline pumping. The limestone ground makes for fast speeds and theres loads of rough bits to negotiate.

National Trust Car Park (grid reference 450774) on Arnside Knott (Just as the B5782 ends in Arnside, the continuation of this road bends round to the left and climbs up a hill. As the road starts to flatten, Arnside Knott is signed to the right. Follow the road round through a housing estate, then after about half a mile turn left up a road again following the sign for Arnside Knott. The National Trust car park is at the end of this track)
